After 4 years being an app aimed at an audience under 13 years of age, PopJam evolved and expanded its target to those under 16. For this reason, the brand's visual identity had to evolve towards a less kiddy aesthetic, leaving behind the irregularities of the logo and graphic elements, and maintaining the brand's personality with a new logo that evolves into more structured shapes with a completely custom-made typography. The look & feel of the brand became much more impactful and attractive for this new audience. I was in charge of the graphic design and creative direction of this project, collaborating with the PopJam team.
A year after updating the brand, we faced a new challenge. Rukkaz, a SuperAwesome product focused on video game streaming, would join forces with PopJam to target an audience of young gamers and streamers. The younger and artistic side of the app would not be the main priority anymore. For this reason, the logo and visual identity of the brand were redesigned, achieving a much more solid, dynamic and attractive look for the video game and livestreaming sector. In this project I had the opportunity to collaborate with the internal team of PopJam, being in charge of the creative direction together with Ed Harrison. After several experiments, we made the decision to use the logo proposed by Ed, which maintains PJ's star and the close personality of the brand. The proposals and design explorations I made served as the basis for the final look & feel of PopJam.
